"In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes."
- Benjamin Franklin
While some can cheat out of paying taxes, 1 in 1 people die. About 150,000 people die every 24 hours—mostly by unforeseen circumstances. How can the fear of physical death and the uncertainty of what happens afterward be defeated? The answers are found in this special message we doubt you have ever heard before.
Unfortunately, every one of us has broken God's law, the 10 Commandments (Exodus 20:3-17):
"You shall have no other gods before Me" (Matthew 22:37 reads, "And He said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'"
"You shall not make for yourself an idol" (people, images, or things regarded with blind admiration, adoration, or devotion) "You shall not worship them or serve them"
"You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain" (blaspheme: use God’s name without real significance, value, or importance; as baseless or worthless)
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy" (reserve one day a week for God and resting from work)
"Honor (value and respect) your father and your mother"
"You shall not murder" (1 John 3:15 declares, "Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.")
"You shall not commit adultery" (Matthew 5:28 says, "but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust (intense, overmastering sexual desire for anyone other than your marital spouse) for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.")
"You shall not steal"
"You shall not bear false witness" (lie)
"You shall not covet" (be jealous of the possessions, advantages, and successes of others, envious of what you don’t have, or discontent with what you have)
"Who can say, 'I have cleansed my heart, I am pure from my sin'?"
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
After death, all will stand in judgment before God, the Creator of all, who is perfect and knows everything:
"And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,"
"So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God."
"And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do."
God is so good that He won’t let evil go unpunished. He won’t just punish murderers, child molesters, rapists, etc. but all liars, thieves, blasphemers, and adulterers. The Bible warns that all who are found guilty will be sentenced to hell (God's prison) for all eternity. For prisoners in hell, death reigns victorious and suffering never ends.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God."
"But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
"Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;'"
That’s not God’s will! That is why He sent His Son Jesus (God in human form) to live a perfect life and then suffer to death on the cross in your place! Then Jesus arose from the dead (Matthew 28:5-9, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4), proving that death has been defeated! He promises to give everlasting life to all who believe in Him.
Here's the verdict: You broke God’s law, the 10 Commandments, but Jesus paid your fine in FULL. That means God can legally dismiss your case! This is all because of Jesus who fulfilled all of God's requirements and is the one and only acceptable sacrifice for our sin.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
"All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him."
"But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed."
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son."
"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.'"
"'Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.'"
"For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."
1 Corinthians 15:55
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
Please, REPENT today and PUT YOUR TRUST IN JESUS ALONE to be saved! Repentance and complete trust go together like the two wings of an airplane. What does this mean?
Repentance is a change of mind. It means to accept that you are a sinner, you deserve hell, turn away from living your own way, and make Jesus your Lord (Master, Owner, Ruler)
To trust Jesus alone means that rather than trusting in yourself, other people, doing good things, religion, experiences, etc, you remove your trust from those things and place your trust only in Jesus as your Savior. You rely on His finished work on the cross.
You may be thinking, "How? Where do I start? What does this look like?" There's no magical words you could say or work you could do to earn anything from God. He is concerned with your heart. Simply turn to God in prayer, right now, just as you are. If you are sorry for your sin, desire to be released from eternal damnation, and want to give God the glory He deserves He will surely forgive you, wash you clean, and grant you the FREE GIFT of everlasting life!
"Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, 'The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.'"
"I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."
1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
"Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;"
"All that the Father gives Me will come to me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out."
"Say to them, 'As I live!' declares the Lord God, 'I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of Israel?'"
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast."
"For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
As a result, you will be “born again” with a new heart and new desires! When you understand that Jesus has brought you out of everlasting death and into everlasting life you can't help but live for Him. You will want to study the Bible and obey it, not as an attempt to work your way to Heaven, but out of your love for Jesus because He has already fully accomplished it all for you on the cross! This is the Holy Spirit conforming you to the character of Christ, evidence that you are saved! You have been adopted as a child of God!
"Jesus answered and said to him, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.'"
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God."
"Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."
"I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the Lord; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart."
"'Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.'"
2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."
No matter what, you can’t lose your salvation! God will never leave you!
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one."
"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
"'For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.'"
“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.”
